PARK RIDGE, N.J.—The Park Ridge Rotary Club and Halfway Hounds, a Park Ridge-based canine shelter organization, are jointly sponsoring their Seventh Annual 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Sept. 15, rain or shine, at the Park Ridge Municipal Pool.
The event starts at 10 a.m., and registration begins at 9 a.m.
Park Ridge rocker Rich Onorato of the band J2O is back to DJ this fun-filled community event. Participants and spectators alike will enjoy music, free stretching provided by Montvale Spine and Health Center, light refreshments, and much more.
The non-refundable entry fee is $25, and day-of-event fee is $35. The fee for kids 6–17 is $15, and children under 5 are free. Runners/walkers who pre-register by Sept. 3 will get a T-shirt.

Packets can be picked up on Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kearny Bank, 653 Westwood Ave., River Vale, or from 9 a.m. at the Municipal Pool, 120 Colony Ave., Park Ridge, Sept. 15.

Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place men/women in the following categories: under 14, ages 15–18, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 and over.
In the team competition, awards will be presented to the top three teams.
Halfway Hounds’s mission is to give homeless dogs a new “leash” on life by offering them the obedience training, behavior modification and emotional rehabilitation they need to become adoptable pets. It is a volunteer based non-profit organization and a recognized 501(c)3.
The Park Ridge Rotary Club is part of an international service organization with a stated purpose of bringing business leaders together in order to promote goodwill and offer humanitarian services. As of 2014, it has a worldwide membership of 1.22 million spread across 34,282 clubs worldwide.
