The service will feature the children of St. Paul’s Sunday School and friends portraying the traditional characters of the Christmas story: the angel Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, the Innkeeper, angels, shepherds and a wise man. The children will be dressed in costume. A reception will follow the service in St. Paul’s Koepchen Fellowship Hall.
“Each year, our Sunday School children give us the best Christmas present of all,” said Rev. Robert Holsten, pastor of St. Paul’s. “They tell us the story of the birth of Jesus, God’s Son and our Savior. The children will also sing two favorite songs: ‘Our God Is So Great,’ and ‘Jesus In the Morning.’ The congregation will also have the opportunity to sing favorite Christmas carols, including ‘Oh Come, All Ye Faithful,’ ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem,’ ‘The First Noel,’ and ‘Away In A Manger.’”
“We see God at work in everything,” adds Sunday School teacher Donna Munsch. “God was certainly at work in the lives of the people and animals in the Christmas story. He’s also at work in our lives today.”
