ENGLEWOOD, N.J.—High school cast members of “Mamma Mia!” from Dwight Morrow High School and the Academies@Englewood will perform on BergenPAC’s professional mainstage on Jan. 31 and Feb 1.

Now in its fifth year, this collaboration with BergenPAC and both schools offers students a highly unique opportunity to work with theatre professionals in an Equity theatre.

BergenPAC’s mission is to enhance the arts programs at local school districts and offer a professional experience to its participants. The program’s co-production includes full use of BergenPAC’s mainstage and their professional crew, as well as administrative support, provided by Gerrilyn Guerrero.

“Mamma Mia!” sets the timeless music of the musical group ABBA to an entertaining plot of a young woman’s longing to know her real father.

Originally opening in 2001 to rave reviews, the show boasts being the ninth longest-running Broadway show and longest-running jukebox musical in history.

“Fun and engaging, the show will leave every audience member smiling, singing and dancing in the aisles,” producers told Northern Valley Press.

The fabulous cast and crew are eager to present this co-production led by professional actor/teaching artist Jane Keitel (director), Musical Director Sandy Meltzer and Choreographer Nikki Manx.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31 and Friday, Feb. 1. Tickets can be purchased online at bergenpac.org or at the door.
