
DEMAREST, N.J, — April 26–27, The Art School at Old Church (TASOC) will host several events, including a pop-up art market, a pottery lawn sale, painting demonstrations, and a juried gallery exhibition.
April 26, a pop-up shop featuring ceramics, jewelry, and other works of art will be at the Demarest train station from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than a dozen artists and artisans will be featured, as well as live plein air painting demonstrations.
April 27, TASOC will have an open house, featuring a pottery lawn sale of works by students and faculty from noon to 3 p.m. The open house will give visitors a chance to see In Hand II, a juried exhibition of ceramic cups by 73 contemporary artists on view in the Mikhail Zakin Gallery.
The Art School at Old Church was founded in 1974 when artists transformed a 19th-century church building into a community center for art and culture. The school and adjoining Mikhail Zakin Gallery serve more than 5,000 participants of all ages each year.
