The Bristal at Englewood Celebrates Grand Opening

Engel Burman joins with city, county and state officials to celebrate the Grand Opening of The Bristal at Englewood.

ENGLEWOOD, N.J.—Executives of The Bristal Assisted Living, the region’s leader in senior care communities, joined with city, county and state officials on Sept. 26 for the Grand Opening of The Bristal at Englewood, a new assisted living community featuring luxurious services and amenities and offering unparalleled care.

“We are thrilled to be here today to celebrate the grand opening of what is the most modern assisted living community in Bergen County. We are very proud of the quality of life that we offer each and every resident at The Bristal. We are so pleased that we are able to offer our services to families across Bergen County,” said Jan Burman, President of Engel Burman, the developer of The Bristal at Englewood.

“Over the past 20 years, The Bristal name has become the gold standard in high quality assisted living. This beautiful new building exemplifies our ongoing commitment to providing the finest care for our loved ones who no longer choose to live on their own, or for those who need a little extra help,” said Steven Krieger, partner of Engel Burman.

“The City of Englewood is extraordinarily lucky to have The Bristal in our city boundaries. Any company that invests millions in brick and mortar is doing it right when it comes to enhancing the lives of those who are approaching their sunset years. This is one of Englewood’s best feathers in its cap,” said Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes.

Resident Phyllis Baumrind movingly spoke about making the transition from living in her own home to moving into The Bristal after her husband passed away.

“This was the best choice that I could have made for my children. They know that they don’t have to worry about me,” she said, adding, “Coming to The Bristal, I found a new home. I have a new family of friends and I’m happy.”

The new six-story community features 273 suites; including two-bedroom, one-bedroom and studio suite options. Residents enjoy three nutritious meals served daily in the country club dining room as well as services such as housekeeping, recreational activities, plus educational and wellness programs—all designed to make for a happier and healthier lifestyle.

The Bristal at Englewood offers a wide array of on-site amenities including an outdoor terrace, putting green, beauty salon, fitness center, cinema, country club style dining room, card room, billiard room, arts and crafts studio, library, bistro grille with a pizza oven, and more. There is covered parking at the lobby level for residents, visiting family members and guests.

A unique feature of this building is that there is an entire floor dedicated to the Reflections area, providing care for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The 65-suite Reflections Memory Care Neighborhood features a full dining room, activity area, arts & crafts studio, cinema and an outdoor patio—all in a safe and secure environment.

Located at 412 South Van Brunt Street, The Bristal at Englewood is just minutes from major highways including Route 4, Garden State Parkway, Palisades Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike, and only 10 minutes from the George Washington Bridge.

Since 2000, The Bristal Assisted Living communities have been serving families across the tri-state area. The Bristal at Englewood is the 18th community of The Bristal for Engel Burman, and the second in Bergen County, joining The Bristal at Woodcliff Lake which opened in 2013. The Bristal has 16 additional communities throughout Long Island and Westchester County, N.Y.
