DEMAREST, N.J.—Demarest Police Department told Northern Valley Press it responded to 21 emergency calls between Aug. 28 and Sept. 4, including a theft from a motor vehicle on Ruth Lane.
A car there was entered illegally and had $5 in change stolen, according to the department’s weekly activity log.
In an unrelated incident, a resident told police $2,059 of fraudulent purchases were made under the resident’s name, in an identity theft case that’s currently under investigation.
Police also responded to five medical calls and two motor vehicle crashes, while issuing 34 summonses during the same period, the log says.
