EMERSON––Kinderkamack Road will be milled starting at 8 p.m. on Aug. 15, Emerson’s Office of Emergency Management told constituents in an advisory issued this morning.
“Please follow posted detours. Expect delays and plan alt route,” the OEM message said.
The borough has been leading a Kinderkamack Road widening and redesign project that’s recently seen the installation of new traffic lights expected to ease vehicular congestion in Emerson’s central business district.
In a letter detailing the ongoing work by Borough Administrator Robert S. Hoffmann, posted on the borough’s website, the projected upcoming schedule includes:
• Tuesday, Aug. 15: Resetting of manhole castings.
• Tuesday, Aug. 15(night, projected 8 p.m. start): Milling of Kinderkamack Road.
• Wednesday, Aug. 16 (day): Resetting of manhole castings, if necessary.
• Thursday, Aug. 17 (day): Paving of side streets
• Friday, Aug. 18 (day): Resetting of manhole castings, if necessary.
• Friday, Aug. 18 (night, projected 8 p.m. start): Paving of Kinderkamack Road.
• Monday, Aug. 21 (day): Thermoplastic striping and markings (two to three days).
• Wednesday, Aug. 23 (day): Thermoplastic striping and markings (if necessary).
“This schedule is subject to minor changes due to weather and other unforeseen conditions,” wrote Hoffmann.
