TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON— Township officials are reminding residents that the new polling place at Bethany Community Center is not an early voting location. The site, at 605 Pascack Road, will be open only on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., for General Election Day voting.
Township Clerk Sue Witkowski tells Pascack Press that more than a dozen local voters have mistakenly gone to Bethany hoping to vote early. The township recently established the Bethany site due to upcoming construction behind Town Hall on the new DPW facility.
All Bergen County–registered voters may vote early through Saturday, Nov. 2, at any of nine in-person early voting locations. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m.–8 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Early voting locations are highlighted on sample ballots mailed to all registered voters.
Nearby early polling sites include:
- River Vale Community Center, 628 Rivervale Road, River Vale
- Tice Senior Center, 411 Chestnut Ridge Road, Woodcliff Lake
Other early in-person voting sites are located in:
Fort Lee (Jack Alter Community Center, 1355 Inwood Terrace); Garfield (Nutrition Center/Senior Citizens Building, 480 Midland Ave.); Hackensack (Administration Building, Fifth Floor Public Meeting Room, One Bergen County Plaza); Paramus (Bergen Community College Technology Building, 400 Paramus Road); Teaneck (Richard Rodda Center, 250 Colonial Court); Wood-Ridge (Senior Center, 495 Highland Ave.); and Wyckoff (Public Library Shotmeyer Room, 200 Woodland Ave.).
Election officials urge voters to bring their sample ballots to polling places for faster check-in.
Editor’s note: Bethany Community Center will host the DPW on an 18-month lease while construction on a new DPW headquarters is constructed on the town hall footprint, where the old DPW was before it was razed over environmental issues.
