Township’s 10th Annual Fall Fest Oct. 5

TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON, N.J.—The township invites residents to its 10th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Memorial Field on Pascack Road.

The event is rain or shine. Admission is free. Parking is available across the street in the Bethany Community Center.

The festival features a health and wellness theme, with giveaways from such vendors as the Board of Health, Green Team, Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the police and fire departments.

Rite Aid will provide flu shots. Bring proof of insurance.

Entertainment is supplied by the popular Ambition Dance Team, DP Martial Arts Troupe, flag football cheerleaders, kids yoga, face painting, balloon art, and more!

Nicholas Markets Foodtown will provide typical festival food—hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken fingers—and healthier options. Also look for ice cream and Italian ices!

Returning are the usual variety of large inflatables for an all-day fee of $5.

New this year is the zip line! Get ready for 300 feet of high flying adventure for a nominal fee per ride. The Fitness Fun Bus will keep the kids moving.

The Golden Seniors once again manage the all-time favorite Ping Pong Ball/Fishbowl Toss. The Contemporary Women’s Club will host the sand art table.

A petting zoo and pony ride are back again. Pony rides are $5.

Town T-shirts are available for sale. New this year: reusable township canvas bags, saving the planet one bag at a time.

Emergency services demos include the fire department, teaching kids how to put out fires; Bergen County Sheriff SWAT and K-9 units; and HUMC AirMed One Helicopter.

Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office features its cyber crimes vehicle. Life Savers, Inc., distributor of the Automatic Emergency Defibrillator (AED), is giving life-saving demonstrations.

WTPD Coffee with a Cop tent is a chance to meet our police officers and receive a memento.

The library staff is featuring a teal pumpkin craft for allergy-friendly trick-or-treater homes: Putting a teal pumpkin on your doorstep means you have non-food treats available, such as glow sticks or small toys. This simple act promotes inclusion for trick-or-treaters with food allergies or other conditions.

Residents are welcome to leave their address as an allergy friendly home for trick-or-treaters to visit on Halloween.

The Kids’ Entrepreneur Corner will enable the children of the Township, 8–18, to become entrepreneurs for a day. Those with a talent for pottery, painting, bracelets, and other arts and crafts will sell their creations and get started on the road to a career.

Boy Scouts of Troop 321 will demonstrate knots and lashings. Cub Scout Pack 228 will set up a campground and offer s’mores.
