UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J.—A borough police officer acted in a disorderly manner by brandishing his weapon while driving and acting erratically, a confidential internal affairs investigation confirmed, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit also found relevant evidence that Officer Kyle Zyskowski hindered a potential internal affairs investigation by encouraging a witness to destroy evidence; that he revealed a resident’s domestic violence restraining order and other privileged information; and that he conspired to harass and intimidate a witness, Calo said.
Zyskowski was served with a summons issued by Bergen County Central Municipal Court May 13. Calo said Zyskowski is due in court on May 29 to answer to charges that include: hindering apprehension or prosecution (a third degree crime); witness tampering (a third degree crime); cyber harassment (a fourth degree crime); disclosure of domestic violence restraining order (a fourth degree crime); harassment (a disorderly persons offense) and disorderly conduct (a disorderly persons).
Zyskowski, 34, is married and lives in Ramsey. He was enrolled in the Police And Firemen’s Retirement System in 2011 and earns salary of $128,400, according to the website datauniverse.com.
