Vaccaro to discuss Yankees book at Hillsdale library on March 23

HILLSDALE — New York Post lead sports columnist Mike Vaccaro will discuss his new book, The Bosses of the Bronx, at 7 p.m. Monday, March 23, at the Hillsdale Free Public Library.

In the book, Vaccaro chronicles the story of the Steinbrenner family’s ownership of the New York Yankees, from George Steinbrenner’s purchase of the team in 1973 through the current era under his son, Hal. The book explores the franchise’s rise into a global sports brand, along with the personalities, conflicts and defining moments that shaped the team.

Vaccaro, a Hillsdale resident, has been the lead sports columnist for the New York Post since 2002. He is also the author of Emperors and Idiots1941: The Greatest Year in Sports, and The First Fall Classic.

Publisher Harper Books will have copies available for purchase, and Vaccaro will sign books following the program.
