HACKENSACK—More than 2,500 newly registered voters were added to eight Pascack Valley towns over the past year, according to a Bergen County Superintendent of Elections report.
Compared to registered numbers last November, the added 2,508 voters represented more than a four percent increase in Pascack Valley registered voters for the Nov. 3 election.
Throughout the eight Pascack Valley towns covered by Pascack Press, 58,182 voters were registered as of late October, while 670,552 voters are registered countywide.
Countywide, 23,234 voters registered as unaffiliated; 18,132 registered as Democratic; and 17, 363 registered as Republican. The percentages break down to: 40 percent unaffiliated; 31 percent Democratic and 29.84 percent Republican. Only .006 of one percent were registered to other parties, including the Conservative Party, Green Party and Socialist Party.
