PARK RIDGE, N.J.—The League of Women Voters of Bergen County invite you to a forum for candidates running for the two seats in state Assembly District 39.
The event is Monday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Park Ridge Community Room, 53 Park Ave., Park Ridge.
With incumbents denoted by asterisks, the candidates are Robert J. Auth (R)*, John Birkner Jr. (D), Gerald Falotico (D) and Holly T. Schepisi (R)*.
The public is invited and will have the opportunity to submit questions for the candidates to answer. The event will be videotaped and broadcast on Cablevision 77 and Fios 22.
A similar forum set for Oct. 24 featuring candidates for Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders was cancelled.
Those candidates are Mary Amoroso (D)*, Corrado D. Belgiovine (R), Kathleen E. Cericola (R), Alyssa K. Dawson (R), Germaine M. Ortiz (D)* and Thomas J. Sullivan (D)*.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
It neither supports nor opposes candidates or political parties. Membership is open to all who subscribe to its purpose.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Voters who applied for a vote by mail ballot for the General Election in 2016, or for any election in 2017, and/or 2018, will automatically receive a vote by mail ballot.
