
WESTWOOD, N.J.— The Borough of Westwood Mayor and Council will hold a work session on Tuesday, June 3, at Borough Hall, 101 Washington Ave., beginning with a closed session at 7 p.m. followed by the public meeting at 7:30.
The public agenda includes a presentation on heart health screenings by Jonathan Schwartz, a discussion of the 2024 borough audit, and preliminary planning for Westwood’s 250th anniversary in 2026. Council will also consider a proposal from the Heritage Society on archiving and scanning historical documents.
Two new ordinances are scheduled for introduction, including Ordinance 25-20, amending the borough’s fire prevention code, and Ordinance 25-19, updating parking prohibitions under Chapter 375.
Council is also set to adopt five ordinances, covering updates to flood damage prevention, filming regulations, zoning provisions, and park rules.
The consent agenda features several key resolutions, including:
- Adoption of a new film permit application
- Appointment of Sarah Holbig as tax assessor
- A salary adjustment for the borough clerk
- Authorization for Westwood and River Vale to provisionally appoint an acting municipal court administrator
- Closure of the train station parking lot and use of Veterans’ Park for Celebrate Westwood’s Arts in the Park
- Acceptance of Clean Communities and Mini Grant funds for Westvale Park cleanup
Council may also vote on the 2024 audit corrective action plan and renewal of liquor licenses for the 2025–2026 license year.
