WESTWOOD — The Mayor and Council will meet Tuesday, March 3 at Borough Hall, 101 Washington Ave., beginning with a 7 p.m. closed session followed by a 7:30 public meeting.
During executive session, officials are scheduled to discuss a parking utility study and its implementation timeline, as well as an affordable housing update. Both matters are listed under attorney-client privilege.
At the public session, council is expected to review its engineer’s biweekly report and discuss several policy and planning items, including appraisal systems, a proposed pump track, 250th anniversary events, 2026 road paving plans, a lightning detection policy, and LOSAP contributions. An introduction of Neglia Engineering is also listed.
Several ordinances are on the agenda.
Ordinance 26-10, on introduction, would amend Chapter 6, Article VII, concerning the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee.
Five ordinances tied to the borough’s Fourth Round Housing Plan Element and Fair Share Plan are listed for action. These include amendments to land use regulations to establish or revise affordable housing overlay zones, including the LM-RM Multifamily Affordable Housing Overlay Zone, the RW-RM Retail/Wholesale–Residential Multifamily Affordable Housing Overlay Zone, and the AHO-3 Affordable Housing Overlay Zone.
Ordinances 26-6, 26-7, 26-8 and 26-9 would implement various components of the borough’s affordable housing compliance plan and amend Chapter 195, “Land Use and Development,” as well as related provisions governing affordable housing development fees and mandatory set-asides. Ordinance 26-8 is also listed for re-introduction.
Under the consent agenda, council will consider resolutions including approval of the bills list and statement of cash; authorizing the list of eligibles and hiring process for a police officer; temporary budget amendments and 2026 budget reserve transfers; awarding contracts for borough engineer; and endorsing a FY2025 Community Development Block Grant project for Second Avenue road improvements.
