NEW JERSEY—There is a winter weather advisory in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, with slippery road conditions expected to impact holiday travel and the Monday morning and evening commutes in the Pascack and Northern valleys and throughout the region, according to the National Weather Service.

A wintery mix on Sunday is expected to give way to light rain at night, eventually changing back to snow Monday and continuing through Monday night, forecasters said. Total snow accumulations are predicted to be between 2 and 4 inches, plus ice accumulations of a light glaze.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy held a press conference Sunday morning describing the state’s preparations, including treating state highways with salt brine in advance of the storm and an increased state police presence.

Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling.
