TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON—The Township of Washington Police Department reports that on Thursday, Jan. 25 at approximately 2:30 p.m. patrol was dispatched to multiple residences on the east side of town due to residents finding roofing-style nails in their driveways.
“Today we were able to ascertain camera footage from a resident which shows the below pictured actor, who is our suspect. The footage shows a white actor wearing blue jeans, tan jacket, tan winter style hat and tan gloves walking southbound on Hickory Street approaching Ridgewood Road. When passing the pictured driveway, the actor is seen throwing underhand roofing style nails, with his left hand, into the driveway before the actor continues to walk southbound,” said the department. The actor is last seen crossing Ridgewood Road and continued south on Hickory Street,” the department said.
It added, “As always, The Washington Township Police Department does not provide specific addresses when accompanying images were obtained from a private resident’s security system out of discretion and respect to the provider. We believe it is critical to provide our community with as much information as possible, and we must balance that responsibility while also respecting the privacy of the potential victim(s).”
WTPD said it received multiple reports of similar incidents over the past few months as well.
“The matters are under investigation by the Washington Township Police Department. We ask that anyone who is able to identify the above individual, or have any information regarding these incidents, please contact the Washington Township Police Department immediately by calling (201) 664-1140.”
