Young athletes, veteran firefighters, speed limit change on revised agenda for Dec. 3

WESTWOOD—The mayor and council will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Borough Hall, 101 Washington Ave. for a closed executive session at 7 p.m., followed by the public session at 7:30.

The meeting’s advertised revised agenda covers a variety of topics, including:

  • Recognition and Community Achievements:
    • Certificates of Achievement will be presented to the Dragons Soccer Club for success in multiple divisions, including Fall 2024 U14 A FlightU9 C Flight, and 13U baseball.
    • Members of the Westwood Fire Department will be honored for their service, including Jaymee Hodges, Dan O’Brien, and Bill Quinn for 50 years of service, as well as Jeffrey Leone, Jr., Declan LeManquis, and Shane Kelley for completing Firefighter I training.
  • Ordinances:
    • Introduction of Ordinance 24-37, which proposes amendments to Chapter 157 on Filming.
  • Key Resolutions for Consideration:
    • Cancellation of current fund appropriations and capital improvement authorization balances.
    • Endorsement of a community development grant for paving 2nd Avenue.
    • Authorization to purchase new surveillance cameras for the train station and gazebo.
    • Approval of a resolution supporting RevolutionNJ and Bergen County’s proposal to change the speed limit on Kinderkamack Road and install warning signs.

    • Cancellation of interest due on taxes, tax reimbursement for a property on Mountain Avenue, and authorization of fees for legalized games of chance licenses.
