RONALD MULLIKEN

Ronald L. Mulliken, Jr., of Old Tappan, previously of Alpine, recently passed away. Survivors include Ron, Chris, Nancy Palmer and John. Also survived by 10 grandchildren. Ron was born in Red Bank. He was a graduate of Tenafly High School (1951) then went on to graduate from Cornell University (1955). He served in the U.S. Army Reserve prior to entering the family business (Mulliken Ford) from 1957-1984. Then moving to Tampa, Florida, becoming the owner and president of Tampa Honda until his retirement in 1988. Ron was an avid hunter, golfer and member of Knickerbocker Country Club, Tenafly. He served as a council member for the Borough of Alpine for many years as well as the Englewood Chamber of Commerce. The funeral service was held at Presbyterian Church at Tenafly, hence to Brookside Cemetery, Englewood.

CALVIN HAYES

Calvin V. Hayes, 81, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Selena, and sons, Tony and Kevin. He was predeceased by his middle son, Gregory. There was a viewing held at Nesbitt Funeral Home in Englewood on Feb. 21. Funeral services were handled by Graves Funeral Home, in Norfolk, Virginia on Feb. 24.

ELIZABETH GAARN
Elizabeth C. Gaarn (nee Eustace), of Tenafly, passed away on Feb. 14, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Richard (2005). Devoted mother of Debbie Mintz and her husband Mike, Susan Pavlik and her husband Artie, Peggy Devine and her husband the late Kevin (2017), Tim and his wife Suzy. Dear sister of Patricia Galasso, Edward Eustace and the late Peggy DeBernardo, and Christopher Eustace. Loving grandma of Ashley, Caitlin, Meaghan, Courtney, Alison, Jackie and her husband Shawn, Casey, Kevin, Michael, Chris and Corey. Visitation was held at Barrett Funeral Home in Tenafly. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Cecilia’s Church, Englewood. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. PEARLIE M. PEYTON-SANCHEZ

Pearlie Mae Peyton-Sanchez, 79, of Englewood, passed with peace and grace on Feb. 16, 2018 with her family at her side. Services and visitation were held at Community Baptist Church in Englewood.

THERESA DELORME

Theresa Delorme (nee Olmo), 87, of Harrington Park and formerly of New Milford, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Frank Delorme. Devoted mother of Terri Collins and her husband Dick, Robert Delorme and his wife Christine, Janine Nowatzky and her husband Bob, and Richard Delorme and his wife Amanda. Theresa was also predeceased by her son James in 1978. She was the loving grandmother of James, Michael, Eric, Luc and Jack. Dear sister of Anne Frato, Carmela Scalice, George Olmo, Victoria Bonadio, and Vincent Olmo. Theresa was also predeceased by her brother Anthony Olmo. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Loraine Cosgrove and Beverly Olmo, and a brother-in-law, Nick Bonadio, as well as her many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Theresa was parishioner of Our Lady of Victories in Harrington Park and St. Joseph’s RC Church in Oradell. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandsons. Her warmth and kindness brought smiles to anyone she encountered. Family and friends visited at the Volk Leber Funeral Home in Oradell. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph’s RC Church Oradell. Interment followed at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations to Valley Hospice, 223 N. Van Dien St., Ridgewood, NJ 07450 are appreciated by the family.

PHILIP T. CABOT
Philip T. Cabot, 66, of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Baig). Loving father of Kenneth and wife Sanjida of Long Island, Mark and wife Renu of South Windsor, Connecticut and Allison of Brooklyn. Cherished grandfather of Tiernan, Aakhil, Maxwell and Elias. Dearest brother of Holly Cabot. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. Philip was a senior manager for Volvo in Rockleigh for many years. He was an active volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA). He also enjoyed being a member of the Rockland Radio Control Club. Visitation was held at Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale. A funeral service was held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil’s memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

SEYMOUR KARPEN
Seymour Karpen, 92, passed away on Feb. 15, 2018 surrounded by loving family and friends in Sarasota, Florida. He was a longtime resident of Norwood, Otis, Massachusetts, and Sarasota, Florida. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Leah and is survived by their three children: Judy Karpen, Gary Karpen, and Saul Karpen; his daughter-in-law Abby Dernburg and Judy’s companion, Cliff Enz; seven grandchildren: Joshua, Sarah, Emily, Matthew, Benjamin, Ari, and Jason; and his sisters Heny Peters and Elaine Paris. Sy was raised in the Bronx, N.Y. and was a longtime roofer/sheet metal worker, and then a high school teacher in New York City. A service was held on Feb. 18 at the Pavilion in Pelican Cove, Sarasota. A funeral service took place on Feb. 20 at Gutterman and Musicant in Hackensack. Interment followed at Beth El Cemetery in Paramus. Donations in his memory can be made to Hevreh of Southern Berkshires, Great Barrington, Massachusetts; the Perlman Music Program/Suncoast, Sarasota, Florida; and Congregation Kol HaNeshama, Sarasota, Florida.

MARGARET KEELY
Margaret I. Keely, 95, of Norwood, formerly of Closter, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Frederick. Cherished mother of Joan Villone and husband David of New Milford and Jennifer Amendola and husband Anthony of Piermont. Adored grandmother of Serafino, Alexandra and Samantha. Dearest sister of the late Mae Hessler, Constance Ford and Natalie Kilmurray. Also survived by nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Margaret was an avid Yankee and Giants fan and she enjoyed golf with her husband Fred, as well as trips to the casinos and playing cards with her friends at Fox Hill. Before retiring she worked at Arwood in Rockleigh and Scholastic in Englewood Cliffs. She was a member of the Norwood and Northvale senior centers. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony’s RC Church in Northvale. Visitation was held at Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale. ELIZABETH A. DICKEY
Elizabeth Ann Dickey (nee Boswell), of Closter, and Jupiter, Florida, passed from this earth on Jan. 22, 2018. Beth was predeceased by her loving parents Elizabeth (Betty) Boswell (nee Rodie) and David J. Boswell, of Ridgefield Park and Closter. Beth is mourned by her brothers, Barry S. Boswell and family of Ridgefield Park, and David A. Boswell and family of Shawnee, Kansas. Beth is also greatly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Feb. 23 at Vorhees Funeral Home in Ridgefield Park. A Funeral Mass was held on Feb. 24 at St. Francis RC Church in Ridgefield Park. In lieu of flowers, small donations to the ASPCA or a favorite charity are appreciated.

CHRISTINE HARRIS
Christine Harris, 87, of Englewood, passed away on Feb. 13, 2018. Visitation and funeral were held at Nesbitt Funeral Home in Englewood.

EVA KAHN
Eva Kahn, of Englewood, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018. She was born in Dusseldorf, Germany on April 1, 1925 and immigrated to South Africa on the eve of World War II. In 1962, Eva and her family moved to the United States, first to Baltimore, Maryland and then to Englewood, where she resided for 55 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Dr. Eric Kahn, former director of pediatrics at Harlem Hospital in New York City and professor emeritus of pediatrics of Columbia University, and later by her partner Mr. John Randall (Randy) Gritzan. Eva was a clinical social worker and director of professional services at Jewish Family Services of Northern New Jersey in Wayne from 1971-1987. She subsequently opened a private psychotherapy practice. After retiring in the late 1980s she traveled widely, becoming an award-winning nature photographer, specializing in landscapes, wildlife and macro photography. Her work has been published in books and newspapers, and has been exhibited at Fairleigh Dickenson University, Bergen Community College, Hackensack, Teaneck, Englewood, Ringwood and Morristown public libraries, senior residences, corporate offices and other locales. Eva is survived by her two sons, Dr. David Kahn (Elizabeth Cole) of Wyckoff, and Colin Kahn (Amiet Goldman) of Morris Plains. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Eric, Lydia, Ethan and Sara. Memorial donations in honor of Eva may be made to The Center for Food Action, 192 W. Demarest Ave., Englewood, NJ 07631. A funeral service was held on Feb. 18 at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel in Paramus.
