COMMUNITY VOICES: Hillsdale Will Stay Strong on Services

To the editor:

Mayor Ruocco recently stated in email communication and to this newspaper that residents should expect a decline in services in town. [“Mayor Says Services Will Be Affected,” Letters, Oct. 7.] I would like to assure the residents that they should expect no such thing. As a council person in Hillsdale, I have the utmost confidence in our department heads and their employees. I’m certain that they will continue to perform their jobs and provide services in the exact manner that they have been and to which Hillsdale residents have grown accustomed. To insinuate otherwise is both offensive and a scare tactic. Rest assured, the department heads and employees of the borough take pride in their work of serving the residents as skilled professionals. That does not change with the departure of one employee. I hope this letter alleviates any concerns to the contrary.
