Old Tappan resident Melissa Alcruz has been recognized with a 2026 Global Recognition Award for Lifetime Achievement, honoring more than three decades of leadership in marketing, branding, and creative strategy.
Alcruz’s career has included leadership roles and brand-building work with major media and publishing organizations, including NBCUniversal, MTV Networks, USA Network, Viacom, Simon & Schuster, and Men’s Health.
Over the course of her career, she has received 27 industry awards recognizing her work in marketing and creative strategy.
Today, Alcruz serves as chief marketing officer for Mr. Short Sale while also leading her consulting company, Alcruz Entertainment.
Throughout her career, Alcruz has focused on helping organizations better understand and connect with their audiences. Her work has included developing brand strategies, overseeing creative initiatives, building partnerships, and guiding companies through changing consumer expectations.
At Mr. Short Sale, Alcruz has worked to reshape how the company communicates with homeowners facing the challenges of the short-sale process, emphasizing education, clarity, and a more consumer-focused approach.
Earlier in her career, Alcruz held leadership positions at NBCUniversal and USA Network, where she oversaw areas including trade marketing, media strategy, sponsorship initiatives, creative development, and brand management.
“I’ve always believed that successful marketing starts with understanding people — what they need, what they experience, and what matters to them,” Alcruz said.
