CLOSTER, N.J.—The borough’s Sept. 11 remembrance service is held at the Closter 9/11 Memorial, located in Remembrance Park, on the corner of Cedar Lane and Harrington Avenue. The service begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
“In keeping with the commitment that ‘we will never forget’ all are invited to join together in remembrance of Sept. 11,” Closter’s 911 Committee wrote to Northern Valley Press. “Join us as we gather as a community for the Closter 9/11 Memorial service on Wednesday, Sept. 11.”
Completed in 2004, Closter’s September 11th Memorial in Remembrance Park pays tribute to all of the Americans whose lives were so profoundly affected and homage to all persons whose sacrifices have provided our cherished freedom and liberty.
“The 9/11 Memorial stands as a moment in time when at precisely 8:46 a.m. a beam of sunlight illuminates the piece of World Trade Center steel that was recovered from the attack. Our Remembrance Service is in keeping the commitment that ‘We will never forget,’” the committee said.
“We welcome you, your families, friends and neighbors and encourage your participation in this remembrance service.”
