
DEMAREST, N.J.—The Demarest Police Department has informed Northern Valley Press about the following recent incidents in the borough:
• A man stole less than $200 of construction site materials from a Laurel Road project in a case that is under investigation. It occurred between Oct. 2 and 9.
• An adult woman was arrested for hindering apprehension after lying to police about her identity during a traffic stop sometime between Oct. 9 and 16.
• Also during the week of Oct. 9–16, a resident reported that she had mailed gift cards and cash valued at $400 to her sister, who never received the money. The case is being investigated as a theft.
Also during this time—Oct. 2 to Oct. 16—police responded to 30 emergency calls, seven motor vehicle crashes and seven medical calls, while issuing 124 summonses.
