Departments Team up on Drug Bust; Meth is Alleged

RIVER VALE, N.J.—Officers were dispatched to Bailey Road on June 20 at approximately 1:38 p.m. to assist the Park Ridge Police Department, which had been dispatched to a suspicious person call on Fairview Avenue.

A person matching the description of the suspicious person was located on Bailey Road in River Vale, near the Park Ridge border. 

The suspect, 39, from Park Ridge, was determined to be under the influence of a stimulant. He surrendered two hypodermic syringes, a glass pipe, and a plastic bag containing a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters. There, he was issued a criminal complaint for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.  

After he was served, he was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance at the Central Judicial Processing Court. 

The police report adds he was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
