Driver Struck With Car Breakdown, Marijuana Arrest

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J.—An officer on patrol westbound on Prospect approaching Kinderkamack Road on April 30 came across a Paterson woman, 30, who was sitting in her silver Mercedes-Benz  with the hazards on just before the intersection.

She said her car had broken down.

Police detected the odor of burnt marijuana from inside her car, then and radioed for a second unit.

The defendant turned over greenish vegetation believed to be marijuana. A search yielded a piece of wood with a one-hitter in it and a vape pen commonly used to smoke marijuana oil.

She was arrested and her car impounded. She was to answer in court June 12 over operating a motor vehicle while in possession of narcotics.

She arranged with a ride share to leave the police station.
