EMERSON, N.J. — Jeffrey Adams, a junior at Emerson Junior-Senior High School and a piano student at Westwood Music Studios, has been nominated for a Metro Award for his work as pianist in the school’s production of Godspell.
Adams was nominated in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Student Pit Musician. The Metropolitan Theater High School Awards honor exceptional high school theater students throughout New Jersey and New York, including performers, musicians, designers and technical crew members.
“I was utterly flabbergasted — stunned,” Adams said after learning of the nomination. “I thought my playing would go unnoticed, but I was proven wrong.”
The Metro Awards will be held June 15 at the Purchase College Performing Arts Center Concert Hall. Adams will join nominees from across the region at the gala event.
