TENAFLY, N.J.—The Tenafly Nature Center invites you to come after dark and meet several live nocturnal animals and learn how animals adapt to their environment on a night hike, Saturday, Oct. 26 between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. (departing every 15 minutes).

Participants will learn about animal senses and then test their own sensory skills.

Tenafly Nature Center Environmental Educators will guide small groups along the nature center trails to visit the “haunts” (a place frequently visited) of these nocturnal forest denizens. Designed to be entertaining and educational (not scary).

Tours are a one hour night hike, stopping to meet furry and scaly friends, followed by a half hour presentation on the owls of New Jersey, after which participants can enjoy refreshments and crafts around the campfire.

All ages welcome. No strollers. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held under cover, but dress for the weather. Space is limited and pre-registration is highly recommended; walk-ins will be accepted as space allows, but cannot be guaranteed a tour.

The price for members is $11 and $16 for non-members, but children under 2 are free. (Group rates available.) Visit tenaflynaturecenter.org/Haunted-Forest for more details, or to register.
