HILLSDALE, N.J.—Approximately 200 adults, children, and their dogs enjoyed a full day of fun at the annual Fall Festival at St. John’s Academy (SJA) in Hillsdale.
The event featured live music, video and carnival games, food, arts and crafts, face painting, a pumpkin patch and more.
Children danced to DJ-provided music as well as to acoustic music from singer-songwriter Allie Sandt, an SJA graduate who performed cover tunes and some original pieces.
SJA alumni, now in high school, continued their strong connection to the school by running the booths at the event, which was sponsored by Donato Financial Group, LLC, Roxanne Towers Inc., the Scirocco family and Smile More Dentistry.
Train rides were especially popular and Porter and Aspen, two youngsters from the SJA community, were among the many children who took a turn on the “track.”
Among the SJA parents who attended were, from left to right, Stefanie Tetro of the Township of Washington, Kelly Morris of Saddle River, Lisa Trottere of Woodcliff Lake, Katie Barra of Oradell, Lizzie Truszkowski and Cristina Donato of the Township of Washington, Deneen Williams of Hillsdale, and Jessica Galdi of Upper Saddle River.
St. John’s Academy, at 460 Hillsdale Avenue, draws students from pre-K through 8th grade from 42 zip codes in New Jersey and New York and feeds Bergen County’s Catholic high schools.
