Closter’s 61st annual Halloween parade will be held on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. Parade participants should meet behind Closter Borough Hall at 12:30 p.m., and proceed at 1 o’clock sharp through the center of town to Tenakill Middle School. Prizes will be awarded for the most beautiful, funniest, scariest and most original costumes. The “Taaz Trophy” will be presented to the child with the best costume. All children will receive trick or treat bags with candy. In the event of rain, the parade will be cancelled, but the costume contest will still proceed at Tenakill at 1 p.m.
Cresskill residents are invited to the borough’s Ragamuffin parade and pumpkin painting contest on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. Participants should line up at Ackerman Field. Treats will be served at the Cresskill Community Center following the parade, where a pumpkin painting contest will also be held. Residents are also invited to a spook-tacular Trunk or Treat on Halloween from 4-6 p.m. in the Third Street municipal parking lot. Don’t forget to decorate your car. Demarest residents will celebrate on Sunday, Oct. 29 with the Halloween parade and Fall Festival. Goblins and ghouls should meet for the parade at the Demarest Train Station at 11:30 a.m., and judges will be selecting costume contest winners during the parade. After the parade to the gazebo, guests will meet back at the train station, where there will be fun children’s events, including refreshments, cookie decorating, an art activity sponsored by the Art School at Old Church, Miss Kate’s spooky stories and more until 1 p.m.
Englewood Cliffs residents are invited to the annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 2-5 p.m. on Johnson Avenue in front of Witte Field. Note: The original date was changed due to inclement weather. There will be a costume contest, music, delicious food, a pumpkin patch, a trunk decoration contest, and even a costume contest for your dogs. The event has grown to include more activities. Harrington Park residents are invited to attend the Ragamuffin parade at Borough Hall on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10-11:30 a.m. Don’t forget to wear your Halloween costumes! There will be games to play and prizes to win.
Haworth’s schedule is jam-packed with tricks and treats for residents. On Friday, Oct. 27, the HHSA is hosting a Trunk or Treat for grades K-5 from 5:30-7 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Haworth Fire Company will be hosting the annual Ragamuffin parade. Participants should assemble in the parking lot on Terrace Street at 10 a.m. In case of rain, participants should go directly to the Haworth School multipurpose room. Prizes will be awarded to children in different age categories, up to fourth grade.
Also on Oct. 28, the Haworth Arts Committee will present spooky ghost stories at the pond at 7 p.m. The event is free – for those who dare. There will be ghost stories, poems and music for all ages. Free fall snacks will be provided, and glow sticks will be given to the first 100 ghouls in costume. Bring your own chair or blanket. Rain date Oct. 29.
Haworth’s Borough-Wide Halloween Celebration will take place on Halloween from 3-6 p.m. Goblins, witches and ghosts of all ages are welcome to join for treats, food and music in the Trick-or-Treat zone at Owatanna Street and Seneca Trace from Haworth Avenue to Massachusetts Avenue. No cars will be welcome in the zone to allow for safe trick-or-treating.

Old Tappan’s annual Ragamuffin parade and Halloween Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Oakes Park from 1-5 p.m. Parade registration begins at 12:30 p.m., and the parade starts at 1 p.m. sharp. To be judged for the contest, children will need a number, which will be issued at registration. Prizes will be given by age and overall in several categories, including most original, most humorous and scariest. Bring your pup and maybe he will walk away with the best dressed dog prize. Immediately after the parade will be the Halloween Festival, including lawn games, food and drinks, and a variety of activities. Rain date is Oct. 29, same place and time.
Rockleigh residents are invited to a Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 12-3 p.m. at Borough Hall, 26 Rockleigh Road. Food and refreshments will be provided. Wear your costumes!
Tenafly residents are invited to the annual Halloween celebration on Saturday, Oct. 28. The costume parade held at the Municipal Oval on Tenafly Road will kick off the celebration at 3 p.m. Then, play games at Tenafly Middle School. Come and see the scariest haunted house in Bergen County.
