New York man had marijuana, paraphernalia
HAWORTH, N.J.—On Jan. 19 at 1:31 a.m., Sgt. Gianluca Ragone conducted a motor vehicle stop on Sunset Avenue.
The 40-year-old male driver from New York, N.Y. was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, namely marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The driver was taken to police headquarters, fingerprinted, photographed and released on his own recognizance. The driver was also issued three motor vehicle summonses.
Norwood man was driving while intoxicated
On Jan. 22 at 12:52 a.m., Officer Andrew Soltes conducted a motor vehicle stop on Valley Road. Upon his approach of the driver’s side window, Soltes smelled an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior of the vehicle.
The driver—a 63-year-old man from Norwood—subsequently performed field sobriety tests. Based on Soltes’ observations and indicators observed during the field sobriety testing, it was determined the man was driving while intoxicated.
The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters, where he was processed and subsequently provided two breath samples resulting in a 0.13 percent blood alcohol content reading.
He was issued four motor vehicle summonses and released.
