Newark man had active warrant

– On May 17, at about 9:50 a.m., Officer Andrew Soltes reported conducting a motor vehicle stop on Sunset Avenue with a vehicle bearing a New Jersey registration. Investigation revealed the 41-year-old male driver from Newark had an active arrest warrant originating from Newark, totaling $300. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters, where he posted bail and was released. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons.

Driver had marijuana

– On May 18 at about 11:42 p.m., Officer Andrew Soltes reported conducting a motor vehicle stop on Sunset Avenue with a vehicle bearing a New Jersey registration. Investigation revealed the 29-year-old male driver from River Edge, was in possession of marijuana. The man was arrested and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters for processing.  He was charged with possession of marijuana, 50 grams or less, processed and released on his own recognizance. The driver was also issued four motor vehicle summonses.

Teen riding in car had marijuana

– On May 22 at 12:02 a.m., Officer Kevin McKeary reported conducting a motor vehicle stop on Washington Avenue, Dumont.  Investigation revealed a 19-year-old male passenger from Bloomfield was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters for processing, where he was charged with possession of marijuana, 50 grams or less, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed, issued one motor vehicle summons, and released on his own recognizance.

Plainfield man, teen, both had marijuana

– On May 22 at 4:49 p.m., Officer Andrew Soltes conducting a motor vehicle stop on Haworth Avenue. Investigation revealed a 23-year-old male passenger and a 17-year-old male passenger, both from Plainfield, were in possession of marijuana. They were arrested and transported to Haworth Police Headquarters for processing. The adult was charged with possession of marijuana, 50 grams or less, and released on his own recognizance. The juvenile was subsequently released to a guardian; charges pending subject to review by the Juvenile Bureau.  The driver was issued four motor vehicle summonses.
