HILLSDALE/WESTWOOD—The Friends of the Pascack Brook will host their 34th annual Kids Fishing Contest on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.
The event is free, with no entry fee, and is open to boys and girls ages 4 through 16, including residents and non-residents. Trophies and prizes will be awarded for the longest trout caught from the Pascack Brook.
Age groups are 4 and 5, 6 and 7, 8 and 9, 10 and 11, 12 and 13, and 14 to 16.
Trout will be stocked in the Pascack Brook at the Hillsdale Library and Kings shopping center, and in Westwood at the Elks Club, Brookside Park, and Overbrook Park.
Fish may be checked in from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the old police booth in the center of Hillsdale or at catch-and-release stations from 8 a.m. to noon. The creel limit is four fish.
The Westwood Elks will serve refreshments. Trophies will be awarded in Veterans Park.
