CLOSTER, N.J.—A Human Trafficking Awareness Discussion will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 20 Legion Place in Closter, on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
“It is hard to imagine that, in the 21st century, fellow human beings could be exploited and forced to work in the sex industry and other industries against their will,” say organizers. “Human trafficking is a horrific crime against the basic dignity and rights of the human person and all efforts must be expended to end it. In the end, we must work together to eliminate the root causes and markets that permit traffickers to flourish and to ensure that one day soon trafficking in human persons vanishes from the face of the earth.”
This presentation will educate on what human trafficking is, where it exists, and how we can help end it. The facilitator will be Joann Marie Aumand, and it will be held in the church’s Roger Troy Hall. All are welcome. Free will offering for victims of human trafficking to be accepted.
