HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. — Author and photographer Kevin Woyce will present a visual tour of New Jersey’s coastal past on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall, 85 Harriot Ave.
Presented by the Harrington Park Historical Society, “History of the Jersey Shore” will trace the coast’s development from the era of lighthouses and shipwrecks through the founding of its best-known summer resorts.
Woyce has reimagined the program for 2026, adding dozens of original photographs of lighthouses, boardwalks and other landmarks. The presentation also features vintage images of notable people, places and events.
A lifelong New Jersey resident, Woyce (website) grew up in East Rutherford as the eldest of 15 siblings and now lives in Lyndhurst. His first book, “Jersey Shore Facts & Photos,” was published in 2007 and, after two revisions, is now titled “Jersey Shore History & Facts.”
He has also written and photographed books about lighthouses, New Jersey state parks, Niagara Falls, the Statue of Liberty and Christmas traditions. Woyce began lecturing on regional history in 2008 and introduced his first slideshow programs two years later.
