‘Operation Home Alone’ Arrests 16—Including Cop, Teacher, Minister—For Attempting To Lure Minors Online, Prosecutor’s Office Says

HACKENSACK—New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal is expected to detail the arrests of 16 alleged child predators charged with attempting to lure minors for sex via “chat apps,” at a April 24, 10:30 a.m. press conference. 

“Operation Home Alone” arrested 16 alleged child predators—including a police officer, a teacher, and a minister—in a collaborative child protection sting operation, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced. 

Law enforcement officials will describe the defendants and their alleged crimes, and also what chat apps—or online communications mediums—were being used, the BCPO said. 

“Operation Home Alone” was spearheaded by The New Jersey Attorney General’s Division of Criminal Justice, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police, New Jersey Regional Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, the FBI, and other law enforcement partners, BCPO said.
