Marijuana, glass pipe, and an obstructed view
A Willingboro man with Arizona plates drew the attention of a local officer on patrol the night of Sept. 7 as the car had an ornament hanging from the rear-view mirror, causing a visual obstruction.
The officer pulled the car over. At the driver’s side window he smelled raw marijuana emanating from within.
The driver and passenger admitted to a small amount of marijuana in the glove compartment. A consent search turned up the marijuana and a glass pipe.
The two received summonses: the passenger for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, and the driver for obstructed view. Court date was Oct. 9.
Stopped for cell phone use, driver arrested over pills
A Spring Valley, N.Y. woman must answer to complaints of possession of drug on Schedule I, II, III, or IV, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, use of cell phone while driving (state), maintenance of lamps, unclear plate, obstructed view, and possession of controlled dangerous substances in a motor vehicle following a stop on Grand Avenue just after midnight Sept. 21.
According to the police report, the officer saw the driver holding a cell phone while driving, and then saw that the defendant’s license plate light was out.
When backup arrived de conducted a probable cause search prompted by the strong odor of marijuana. Officers turned up a shopping bag, purse, and small silver container of loose drugs and paraphernalia in the defendant’s possession.
Among the drugs were marijuana and 63 suspected Oxycodone, Alprazolam, and Tramadol pills.
The defendant’s court date was Sept. 30.
