NORTHERN VALLEY AREA, N.J.—CareOne, a premier, family-owned health care company headquartered in Fort Lee, will host their Sixth Annual 5K Race Against Cancer on Sunday, Sept. 29 at Overpeck County Park.
As New Jersey’s largest privately owned post-acute and long-term care provider, and one of the largest privately owned health care companies in the United States, CareOne’s commitment to quality care and giving back to their community is embodied by its 15,000 employees with 57 care centers across six states. For the past 5 years, CareOne has hosted a charity run with 100% of proceeds benefiting The Gwendolyn And Joseph Straus Charitable Fund.
The Race Against Cancer started in 2014 when an employee at CareOne was undergoing treatment for an aggressive form of cancer. The first year had 150 runners and raised $15,000. Since then, CareOne raised over $200,000 and upwards of 200 runners partaking each year. The course intertwines through the beautiful Overpeck Park and is USATF-certified.
