MONTVALE, N.J. — Stack Street Coffee & Tea, a Lower Hudson Valley coffee roaster and wholesale supplier, is moving into the entire commercial building at 100 Philips Parkway, Mayor Michael Ghassali announced in a message to residents.
The company will occupy approximately 75,000 square feet for coffee roasting, production and distribution, according to the mayor. Its website describes Stack Street as a provider of small-batch roasted coffee and private-label and wholesale programs for retailers, restaurants and other businesses.
Ghassali said the move will reuse a large existing building, create jobs and add to the borough’s commercial tax base. His announcement did not specify the number of jobs expected, the value of the investment or a timetable for the operation to open.
The Montvale Planning Board heard a variance application involving Stack Street Coffee and the property June 2. A resolution granting variance relief to Philips Parkway LLC was listed on the board’s June 16 agenda.
Ghassali said the property had drawn interest from several types of developers before Stack Street selected it. Borough employees worked to secure the permits and approvals needed for the company to close on the property and proceed with its plans, he said.
“Montvale is proving that we don’t have to turn every commercial property into housing to create growth,” Ghassali said.
Stack Street says it roasts and packages its coffee at its headquarters in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley. Its product lines include organic and single-origin coffees, cold brew, pods and tea, along with custom roasting and packaging services.
