The concert is free and open to the public.

The program features an 18-piece brass ensemble, brass quintet, and trombone quartet, and include trumpet, flugelhorn, french horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba players from the Community Band.

Selections include “The Christmas Song,” “Silver Bells,” “Waltz of the Flowers,” “White Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” a variety of Christmas carols, and more.

The Community Band is a group of adult volunteers of varying ages and experiences. They welcome additional woodwind, brass, piano, guitar, bass guitar, and percussion players.

In January 2018, the Jazz Band, Brass Band, Dixieland Combo, and Ragtime Ensemble will resume their monthly rehearsal schedules.

In June, the Concert Band begins preparing for its Friday night summer concerts on the bandstand in Veterans Memorial Park.

This is a great opportunity for musicians to continue playing after high school or college and to dust off their instruments after a few years of inactivity. For more information, visit westwoodcommunityband.org, write wwcommunityband@optonline.net, or call Tom Offerjost at (201) 666-4066.
