WESTWOOD, N.J. — The Borough of Westwood has launched a new digital municipal magazine featuring borough news, department updates, community features and local history in an effort to keep residents better connected with local government.

The inaugural Spring/Summer 2026 edition, titled Westwood: Borough Happenings in the Hub of the Pascack Valley, includes a mayor’s message, board and committee updates, department reports and feature stories on Borough Hall, the Kissing Tree, America’s 250th anniversary in Westwood, recreation programs, and new library director Catherine DiLeo.

The publication is expected to be released two to three times per year and is intended to serve as a centralized source of information on municipal projects, community initiatives, upcoming events, local government activities and stories of interest.

Mayor Ray Arroyo credited Council President Lauren Letizia with developing the concept: “It is a variation of the color insert Community Life used to publish featuring a ‘Mayor’s Message’ and a ‘Council Corner,’ where your local elected officials would update residents on current events, challenges, and initiatives.”

The issue includes several news photos taken by Pascack Press and credited to the newspaper. Pascack Press was not involved in creating the publication and has no role in producing or distributing it.

The first issue uses a magazine-style format, with a cover image of the Borough Hall council chambers and a table of contents organized around regular departments and feature stories. The borough said the digital format allows updates from across borough government to be presented in one accessible publication.

Letizia told Pascack Press in a statement that the goal is to strengthen communication and help residents better understand the work taking place throughout the borough.

“Residents often see the results of municipal government, but not always the work that go into planning, problem-solving, and delivering services,” Letizia said. “This magazine is intended to pull back the curtain and shine a brighter light on what our departments, boards, committees, and elected officials are working on. We have so many dedicated employees and volunteers serving Westwood, and this publication gives us an opportunity to highlight their efforts while keeping residents informed and engaged.”

Each edition is expected to feature updates from borough leadership and municipal departments, along with information on issues affecting residents.

The inaugural edition is available on the Borough of Westwood’s website. Residents may sign up through Community Pass to receive future editions by email.
