PARK RIDGE POLICE: Road Rage Alleged After Shopping Trip Turns Tense

PARK RIDGE, N.J.—Police responded to a report of road rage said to begin in Westwood and persist into Park Ridge.

According to the police report, filed the afternoon of May 16, a Montvale man, 69, leaving the Westwood Trader Joe’s parking lot in his 1996 Jeep Cherokee prevented another car, a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS registered in New York, from cutting him off.

The Mercedes-Benz driver, described as a heavy-set white woman in her 30s with light brown hair, reportedly gave the Jeep driver the finger several times and honked at him. She is said to have followed him to the Ridgemont Shopping Center parking lot and blocked his car in.

There, the woman reportedly yelled, cursing, that she was not leaving until the man apologized. She also took several photos of his car.

Nevertheless, the man continued with his shopping. The woman lingered for several minutes then left.

The man gave police the other driver’s license plate number. He said he didn’t want to sign complaints but wanted a report on file.
