PASCACK VALLEY—PSE&G is urging drivers and pedestrians to use extra caution in and around work zones as National Work Zone Awareness Week runs April 20–24.

The utility said nearly 200 work zone intrusions have occurred on PSE&G jobs statewide since 2022, including recent incidents that injured an employee and damaged an operating bucket truck.

PSE&G crews work year-round in neighborhoods and along roadways maintaining and upgrading electric and gas infrastructure. With spring and summer activity increasing, the company is reminding the public to slow down, stay alert, follow posted signs, and give crews space to work safely.

Utility trucks are covered under New Jersey’s Move Over Law, which requires drivers to slow down and change lanes when approaching authorized vehicles displaying emergency lights.
