Township of Washington resident Stephen Munson is holding a Wellness Fair for his Eagle project on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Emerson.
The purpose, Munson said, is to provide the community with a comprehensive event supporting a healthy lifestyle.
Presenters and activities are planned from a range of health and fitness organizations for all ages, including blood and marrow drives, organ donation awareness, a NNJC disABILITIES Awareness Challenge, nutrition providers, yoga and martial arts practitioners, and many more.
“I chose a wellness fair as my project because this is the way I have been raised. Activity and proper nutrition are requirements in our home. Taking care of your health is the most important thing
for someone to do. Without your health you have nothing,” he said.
Munson’s project team includes volunteers from scouting, family, and friends; Fr. Paul Cannariato, pastor of the Church of the Assumption; Jim Africano, Ken Hesse, Ed Ference, and members of the NNJC Scouts With Special Needs and DisABILITIES Committee; local chiropractor Steven Cascio (also vice president of the Township of Washington Council); Rich Solimando, Emerson Fire Department; and Chantal Folkes of the Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission.
Click here to schedule a blood donation at the wellness fair, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Bring identification and make sure you’ve eaten before donating. Church of the Assumption is at 29 Jefferson Ave.
