Affordable housing webinar set for May 28

CHERRY HILL, N.J.—Have unanswered questions about New Jersey’s affordable housing law and what it means for local communities?

A webinar titled “Building Homes, Building Local Economies: How NJ’s Affordable Housing Law is Strengthening Communities” will be held Thursday, May 28, at 2 p.m. Eastern.

The program (register here) will examine implementation of New Jersey’s new affordable housing law, including how municipalities are moving forward with plans to create affordable homes and how redevelopment strategies can strengthen local economies.

The discussion is intended for policymakers, media and advocates. The moderator will be the Rev. Eric Dobson. Panelists include Adam Gordon, executive director of Fair Share Housing Center; Princeton Councilwoman Mia Sacks; Jacquelyn Suárez of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs; and Evesham Deputy Mayor Heather Cooper.

Gordon served on Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s transition action team, focused on lowering housing costs and expanding homeownership.
