COMMUNITY VOICES: Furnishings Will Move From Old Site To New, Firefighter Says

To the editor:

In your article on Aug. 19 regarding the funding of a new firehouse in the Township of Washington, Councilman Michael Ullman was quoted as saying there will be increased expenses for “furnishings and equipment.”

The fact is there will be no expenses for furnishings, as the Ambulance Corps will move all its existing bunk beds, lockers, kitchen  appliances meeting room tables and chairs, etc. The Fire Department will move all its existing kitchen appliances, meeting room tables and chairs, file cabinets, etc., into the new building.

The residents of the Township of Washington need to know the correct facts about this issue so that they can make an informed decision about it.
