To the editor:
I am pleased to announce that Hillsdale has been selected to receive funding of $205,000 from the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of several streets in 2020. NJDOT’s Municipal Aid Program is very competitive, with the funding coming from the state’s gas tax. The NJDOT provides statewide assistance to local governments for improving and preserving local transportation networks. The affected streets will be Hillsdale Avenue (between Cedar Lane and Everdell), Highland Avenue, Midland Avenue, Everdell Avenue, and Maplewood Avenue.
I thank Christopher Statile, our borough engineer, for initiating and preparing the grant application, and the governing body for approving its submission.
