Four Suspects Allegedly Targeted Rolex-Wearing Victims in ‘Robbery Spree’

PARAMUS, N.J.—Two suspects in a Sept. 24, 2018, Englewood Cliffs robbery were arrested in recent weeks as a police dragnet closed in on four men accused of targeting individuals wearing Rolex watches in three separate incidents, county prosecutors said.

In September 2018 the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad commenced an investigation, Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Other robberies occurred on Oct. 27, 2018, in Cliffside Park and June 17, 2019, in Paramus, according to charges issued.

“As a result of the investigation, four individuals identifying themselves as the ‘TNT’ gang, also known as, ‘THEY NEVER THOUGHT,’ were developed as the primary suspects,” said Musella. “The suspects targeted individuals who were wearing a Rolex watch, and they would forcibly remove the victim’s watch and take cash and personal items. In at least one case, the suspects physically assaulted the victims.”

Musella said evidence obtained identified four primary suspects: Jabri Moore, 20, of Cliffside Park; Jamaris Gray, 20, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Jaylen Nichols, 19, of Bronx, N.Y.; a 17-year-old juvenile of Douglasville, Georgia.

Nichols was arrested in the Bronx by the BCPO and New York Police Department Bronx Gang Unit on July 10 and was charged in connection to the June 17 Paramus robbery with: second degree robbery, first degree use of a 17-year-old or younger to commit crime, and second degree conspiracy to commit robbery.

Moore was arrested the July 10 by the BCPO and Harrison Police Department in Harrison.

Gray was arrested in Palm Coast, Florida on July 12 by the BCPO and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Both Moore and Gray are charged in connection with all three incidents. For the Englewood Cliffs incident, they are accused of second degree robbery and second degree conspiracy to commit robbery. For the Cliffside Park incident, they are accused of first degree armed robbery and first degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery. For the Paramus incident, they are accused of second degree robbery, first degree use of a 17-year-old or younger to commit crime, and second degree conspiracy to commit robbery.

The juvenile surrendered to the BCPO and is charged with second degree robbery and second degree conspiracy to commit robbery in connection to the Paramus incident.

Nichols and Gray have waived extradition to New Jersey, said Musella.

Assisting police agencies included local police from Englewood Cliffs and Tenafly, Musella said.

Charges are pending court proceedings, said Musella.
