COMMUNITY VOICES: Murphy, Simone, Hastings for progress

To the editor:

Everyone keeps talking about “experience” when it comes to candidates running for council in Westwood. Westwood has “experienced” a mostly Republican council for the last number of years and we have been given ample opportunity to analyze their work, aims and objectives. Under their direction Westwood has seen empty storefronts in the Central Business District and no real green plan or concern for our environmental future.

We feel that Jodi Murphy, Lea Simone and Iraj Hastings have shown great concern for the residents of Westwood and their willingness to listen to people’s concerns is highly commendable. We believe with their strong presence, some of the existing weaknesses we currently find ourselves in will cease to exist. Their ability to lead is evident in the working relationships they have fostered in the community, the understanding that all residents must be heard, and that what is best for Westwood is not self-serving.

This ticket shows leadership and people just naturally follow their ideas and beliefs. We are writing to show our allegiance and support for Murphy,  Simone and Hastings as we believe wholeheartedly in their abilities and competence.
