COMMUNITY VOICES: Bayley for Downing, Dinallo

To the editor:

As we enter the final stages of this year’s campaigning, I would like to take this opportunity to endorse our Democratic candidates in Emerson, Brian Downing and Pat Dinallo. Both of these fine people are lifetime residents and have all of the personal characteristics anyone would appreciate and support. They have served others for all of their years in public service.

Pat is a retired teacher and Brian is a retired police officer who now serves in the Consumer Protection Department. It was my pleasure to have served alongside Brian on the council and to have considered Pat a friend of mine for many years.

Our council will be facing many challenging issues in the near future and we need calm and courteous people on the council who will keep Emerson the great little town we all love. We will need their vision for how we will house our first responders. They both support the concept of a safer police station which will also house our volunteer ambulance corps.

In addition, Pat and Brian support the renovation of the flooring in the firehouse, which needs immediate attention.

Furthermore, both candidates will be invaluable in getting our downtown redevelopment completed. To be certain, they will pursue the proper financing of these projects which are both necessary and cannot be delayed.

It is for all of the reasons above that I hereby endorse Pat Dinallo and Brian Downing for the open seats on the Emerson Borough Council. Please help us to accomplish our goals and remember to vote for these excellent candidates on Nov. 5.
